REFRACTIONS

Fresh Vision Optometrists provides a wide-range of eye examinations for each person’s specific needs. The aim is to make clear and comfortable vision a reality for each patient, which is why taken to consideration are their daily activities, work environment, hobbies and sports played. General examinations include a visual assessment, a binocular vision assessment, an ocular health assessment and an eye pressure measurement. The latest technology and methods are used to ensure that the examinations of the highest standard.

GLAUCOMA SCREENING

Glaucoma screening forms a part of the general examination. During the examination the optometrist is able to determine if it is necessary to schedule a follow-up appointment for high risk glaucoma patients. Discovery Vitality members are invited to have an annual glaucoma screening, with the results directly submitted to Discovery to earn points.

DIABETIC SCREENING & MONITORING

Close monitoring of diabetic patients as they are at high risk for developing retinal deterioration will also be part of services provided. Diabetic screening forms part of our general examination and the optometrists will schedule a follow-up appointment for each patient, depending on the severity of their disease. The optometrist will, of course, work together with relevant specialists, hospitals and clinics in the area to ensure that each diabetic patient’s needs are specifically catered for.

PERSONAL FRAME SELECTION & ASSISTANCE

Fresh Vision Optometrist stocks a wide variety of quality and durable frame brands. Our staff is trained in helping the patient choose the best frame while taking their facial structure and frame colour, prescription and daily activities into account.

BINOCULAR VISION ASSESSMENT

Binocular vision assessment forms part of the general examination and includes an evaluation of the eye muscle function and an assessment of the capability of the eyes to perceive depth and maintain comfortable vision in high binocular strain environments.

PROFESSIONAL LENS & PRESCRIPTION DISPENSING

The practice will have a qualified dispenser to assist patients with selecting the correct lens and lens coatings which will not only look good, but also provide comfortable vision for daily activities. The practice will make use of the latest software to show client’s the different lenses available along with the benefits of each lens coating.

GENERAL AND VALUE ADDED SERVICES

These are the practice’s additional services which include patient after care. This is in the form of frame adjustments and repairs, spares and accessories sold on the website. In addition to the general test, a contact lens examination and assessment is offered for those patients who are candidates for that service. This also includes after care and follow up appointments. Patients will also learn and be given professional advice and education in all areas of their primary eye care.

DRIVERS LICENSE EYE EXAMINATION

Fresh Vision Optometrists offers official driver’s license certificates in compliance with the National Road Traffic Act.
